Catwalk ‘Frow’

You know it’s LFW when you see fashion bloggers in the middle of roads taking street style photos and when everyone in London is looking the stylish they have ever looked!! I was standing in the queue waiting to watch the Tahir Sultan show and I couldn’t help but look at what everyone was wearing – from their shoes, to the bag they were carrying. I noticed this year, it was all about standing out and being different, wearing the quirkiest dress was definitely the ‘in thing!’ Of course everyone was holding the top of the range cameras; I noticed...

fun and frolics at Barrio Central

Thursday nights are the new Friday nights…so my friend and I went for dinner and cocktails at Barrio Central in Soho! As soon as I walked in, the place was buzzing with quite a ‘party like’ atmosphere; it was 7.45 on a Thursday night and it felt like everyone was preparing for the weekend! The waitress was very attentive; as soon as I walked in she asked us what we wanted to drink. We ordered a bottle of white wine off the discount menu, which meant we got £5 off (always a plus before pay day!!) If you are feeling a few cocktails on a week night definitely head to Barrio Central , as they do a discount on them between 3pm – 8pm, Monday to Friday. The cocktail menu consisted of some pretty unusual cocktails… Ram Berry Jam (Fizzy citrus spritzer with Finlandia Grapefruit and raspberry Jam) and Gingerbread Colada (Appleton VX and Koko Kanu rums with pineapple and coconut) I was pretty impressed with the bartenders making the orders so fast – throwing bottles everywhere!! After a few glasses or wine, it was time for some much needed food. We ordered vegetarian quesadillas – soft flour tortillas filled with roasted seasonal vegetables & cheese, plantain & halloumi – grilled with roasted red peppers and served with fiery habanera salsa and finally Barrios Central’s famous nachos loaded with...

Summer is here! What comes NEXT!

I attended the SS13 Next Press day last week and my gosh, did it make me wish summer was here already!! It was full of beautiful bikinis, summer dresses, flip flops, kimonos, basically everything that reminded me of the summer holidays! Next always showcase their products so well at press days. I am a huge fan of their shoes – so here are a few of my favs (the electric blue ones would go so well with a white summery dress) I fell in love with their under wear range, such a great range of colours and designs. It...

The most photogenic city named Berlin

Last weekend I was lucky enough to visit the most photogenic city (according to the “Life’s a Photo” Samsung Campaign), Berlin! Last November Samsung teamed up with 32 influential Instagrammers from 8 cities around the world and via 8 weekly briefs challenged them to prove, that their city was the most photogenic, using the newly launched GALAXY camera. Each week the photography was added to samsungcamera.tumblr.com where fans were able to vote for their favourite images and favourite city. BERLIN had the most shared images and won the title of most photogenic city! Last weekend was the party to...

London’s hot spot…Gilgamesh

A few weekends ago I visited one of London’s top restaurants, Gilgamesh. As soon as I arrived at the restaurant I felt like I was in a different world, the interior was just stunning. The restaurant had a contemporary style, perfectly fused with the mystique of the Babylonian era. We arrived on the early side (of course) so we treated ourselves to some lychee martini cocktails. I have to say, they were the best I have ever tasted…fresh and delicious! They have such a great range of cocktails at Gilgamesh, and here are a few of my favs: ASSYRIA – Ketel One Vodka with Midori, Raspberry, Passion Fruit DILMUN – Ketel One Citron, Fresh Watermelon, Mint, Sugar and Cranberry ISHTAR – Pampero Especial Rum, Raspberry and Rose Liqueur APPLE AND FIG MARTINI – Stolichnaya Apple Vodka, Créme de Figue and Fresh Blackberries Onto the food…at Gilgamesh you can either have the set menu or the À la carte, we opted for the set menu and I was VERY impressed with the selection of dishes. For starters we were served, crispy smoked chicken, prawn spring rolls, seared salmon sashimi, spicy spider sushi rolls and shanghai dumplings. There were so many different flavours and textures; the selection of dishes was perfect.  For the main we were served, beef paneang, plum miso silver cod, papaya & smoked trout crispy salad, all of...
